 New Activities:                                                                     

 

(1)Shoe-off Walkathon 2010

(12th November,2011, Saturday)

    “Shoes-off Walkathon 2011” is an annual large-scale fund-raising event organized by China Education Association, HKUSU (CEA), which is run by students of the University of Hong Kong. Following the mission of CEA, “Shoes-Off Walkathon 2011” aims at raising fund for the “China Education Development Fund, China Education Association, HKUSU” to subsidize schooling expenses of secondary school students in rural China.

    Shoes-off Walkathon requires the participants to walk with bare foot. This is to provide a chance for them to experience how the children feel during their journey to schools in rural areas. Roads in the remote villages are scattered with clays and gravels, and the children have to take a long journey to school every day, with low quality shoes, even with bare foot in some cases. Therefore, our walkathon aims at providing similar feelings for the participants while raising fund at the same time.
